The UNI Split Gland cable gland from Pflitsch makes it possible to insert IP67 cable assemblies through a housing bore or to replace the cable gland during repairs and maintenance without having to disconnect the cable installation. With the cable gland, the gland body and the pressure screw each consist of two parts. These are securely locked together during installation. When inserted or screwed into a hole, the gland also achieves high strain relief values, according to the manufacturer. The cable gland range has been expanded with polycarbonate types in sizes M20 to M32 as well as the M25-HD made of die-cast zinc for increased mechanical requirements and extreme operating temperatures. For assembly, the fitter inserts the cable(s) into the slotted sealing insert, for example using a pair of expanding pliers. He then joins the two halves of the cable gland, fixes them in the housing bore and pushes the sealing insert into the double nipple. The two halves of the pressure screw are then placed around the cables, locked together and screwed on. For disassembly, the two halves of the screw connection can be easily unlocked again using a screwdriver.
