The CompactPCI Serial carrier board SF1-Studio from EKF accommodates up to two I/O mezzanine modules in PCI Express Mini-Card format, which serve as an interface for connection to the fieldbus level and the Industrial Ethernet. Up to four front connectors in various combinations allow direct connection to machines and systems. The carrier board is tailored for the Hilscher Real-Time Ethernet & Fieldbus modules. According to the manufacturer, many protocols are also supported: Ethercat, Ethernet/IP, Open-Modbus/TCP, Powerlink, Profinet IO, Sercos, and Varan are available for the Industrial Ethernet, for example. There are also modules for the classic fieldbus protocols Profibus DP, CANopen, Devicenet and CC-Link. Suitable combinations also provide solutions for bridge and router applications.
