AI and streaming meet robustness

IDS Imaging Development Systems is expanding its range of AI cameras with the 'IDS NXT oslo'. The model combines artificial intelligence with video streaming and recording functions in a compact, industrial-grade housing.

At the heart of the IDS camera is a chip from Ambarella, already known from the sister model 'IDS NXT malibu'. It enables compressed video streams in full 5 MP sensor resolution (H.264, MJPEG) with over 25 frames per second. The output takes place directly on the desired end device via RTSP protocol - without the detour via an additional PC for analysis or visualization. This makes the camera particularly suitable for applications that require live images including AI-based overlays. Thanks to the integrated ISP (Image Signal Processor), users also benefit from automatic features, for example for brightness, lens distortion and color correction. Together with the light-sensitive onsemi AR0521 sensor, this ensures high image quality even under difficult lighting conditions.

"With IDS NXT oslo, we are launching a versatile AI camera that not only analyzes in real time, but also enables direct streaming and recording. The robust IP69K housing including M12 connectors ensures reliable operation in the most demanding industrial or agricultural environments," says the provider.
