Sick is expanding its portfolio of camera-based code readers with the Lector61x.
It measures 30 mm x 40 mm x 50 mm and complements the Lector series for reading 1D, 2D and stacked codes. In addition to the logistics and automotive industries, these are used for component traceability, particularly in the sensitive and miniaturized electronics and solar industries for electronic component, device and PCB identification, as well as for date code inspection, serialization and package content control in the consumer goods industry.
Thanks to its compact housing with guided connector unit, the code reader can be installed in production lines with limited space. The DPM decoder uses intelligent decoding algorithms to read lasered or needled codes without errors - even with low contrast, dirt or poor code quality, according to the manufacturer.
The flexible lighting concept with eight LEDs and two colors is controllable and enables reliable code identification, regardless of the surface or code color. Continuous focus adjustment with distance LEDs and LED aiming aid simplifies and speeds up commissioning.
