Information models define the available objects such as variables and alarms in accordance with the OPC UA standard. In addition to the general information models that are already included in the standard, there is the option of defining further information models that either cover the specific tasks of a particular industry or describe the object world used in a company and thus ensure compatibility at the semantic level.
The information model of an individual industry is typically described in an "OPC UA Companion Specification".
Version V1.20 of Softing 's Datafeed Secure Integration Server now offers the option of loading specific OPC UA information models. After importing the associated Nodeset.XML file, the user can use the standardized data interface defined in this information model to access the various integrated OPC UA servers.
For example, it describes the defined variables with their properties, such as the unit, the available methods and services.
