Eckelmann FCS

Yvonne Junginger,

Reduce energy storage consumption

Eckelmann FCS is introducing the scalable E°Darc DCB energy storage modules to leverage unused energy-saving potential in the DC link.

The modules are available for capacities from 8 to 160 mF and are designed for a continuous current of up to 300 Aeff. Inverters with an output of up to 250 kW are supported. The storage modules can be operated in combination with commercially available inverters with a three-phase mains connection and with DC link voltages of up to 900 V(DC). They are compatible with a wide range of drive systems on the market. Thanks to the data interface to common energy management systems, the benefits of the energy storage systems can be analyzed and documented transparently.

The energy storage units avoid high peak loads (peak shaving) and, according to Eckelmann, reduce energy costs by up to 40%, depending on the application. The modules are completely ready for connection, finger-safe (IP10B), UL-compliant and flexibly scalable. The capacitor-based DC link storage modules are used for the short-term storage of electrical energy generated by regenerative drive controllers when braking drives.
