The new e-light REG from eks Engel is an Ethernet switch in a modular design. This means that this switch can be used in control cabinets and electrical installation distributors in accordance with DIN 43880, for example in applications in the field of production systems, building automation or energy supply. A total of four variants are available for Fast Ethernet, which have either five twisted pair (100 BASE-TX) or five optical ports (100 BASE-FX) or the combinations 4TX/1FX and 2TX/2FX. All variants meet the industry standard for EMC resistance. Other features include a temperature range of -40 to +55 °C, protection class IP20, an input voltage of 12 to 60 VDC or 12 to 30 VAC and conformity with DIN VDE 0603. Distances of up to 30 km can be bridged via the optical ports, which are available for various fiber optic cable types and connection technologies. Depending on the variant, the switch is designed for single-mode, multimode or POF fibers, which are connected via SC or Optolock connectors. The housing of the switch, which can be put into operation using the plug-and-play principle, is made of polyamide and measures 78 x 107 x 90 mm.
