Line-up for a generation change
SEW-Eurodrive gave visitors to the show a glimpse of the future in hall 3: Starting with the launch of its new Movi-C electronic generation the Bruchsal-based company is ringing in a generation change in technology.
The new technology platform, says Claus Wieder, head of market management, covers the entire drive electronics suite – from control through software and inverters plus decentralized drives and mechatronics to motors. The first step is presentation of the upcoming Movi-C electronic portfolio here in Nuremberg, including the new multi-axis Movidrive inverter system. The latter is a product ready to go to market, adds Wieder.
A central building block of the upcoming Movi-C generation is the new, intuitive Movisuite engineering software. This is a front-to-end join of commissioning, configuration and diagnostics – no matter whether standard or functionally secure components, whether single inverters or whole machines and plant. Extra to classic programming a large variety of ready fabricated software application modules are intended to very much reduce complexity. “In that way you can implement sophisticated motion kinematics by simple parameterization“, says Wieder.
Much focus is on the continuous build in Movi-C: “Vertically from controller through to gear motor, horizontally through all electronic products, you have the entire modular automation construction kit – and that with just one engineering software“. Continuity in Movi-C also means optimal control of very different kinds of motor like asynchronous, synchronous, servo and LSPM by a single inverter. Last but not least, SEW-Eurodrive wants to set new performance standards with its new drive electronics. The multi-axis system together with the Movi-C power controller can control as many as 32 interpolated axes in just 1 ms. SEW-Eurodrive foresees extra benefits in installation including single-cable technology and dual-axis modules plus standard integrated safety on all axes.
