Dr. Gunther Kegel, Chairman of the ZVEI Automation Association, believes that the automation industry is very well positioned and expects single-digit sales growth this year - in both factory and process automation.

At 37.9 billion euros, exports set another record last year. The development of exports varied from region to region. The strongest export market outside Europe last year was once again China. Exports there climbed again by 8.8% compared to the previous year. "The EU 28 is strengthening and recorded growth in exports of 6.1 %. The EU28 accounts for 46% of total exports," says Kegel.
