The VDMA has announced the figures for global machine sales. According to the figures, this fell by a nominal 1% to 2530 billion euros in 2016. Germany, on the other hand, saw a slight increase.

However, total sales of the equivalent of EUR 964 billion represented a decline of 2% compared to the previous year. As in the previous year, the USA followed in second place; here the decline in turnover was even greater at 4% to the equivalent of EUR 335 billion.
