... the 'EcoMain' remote monitoring system. This is designed to provide targeted support during the journey and help to improve all processes on board. The data can be evaluated on land via remote access. Siemens is also supplying a WLAN solution for the charging stations on land, which will ensure automatic fast charging and can be controlled from the ferry's energy management system. The energy storage system is charged at the ports of departure and arrival, where there is a shore connection to the local power grid. Due to the harsh winter conditions in Finland and the journeys through the ice, the ferry will have the option of using a diesel engine as an additional drive for the on-board batteries.
