The 'Plagiarius' campaign has announced its competition of the same name for the 43rd time. Companies, designers and inventors now have the opportunity to submit their original products and alleged imitations and nominate the "Plagiarist of the Year 2019".
According to the Plagiarius campaign, the Chinese company Pingyang County Leyi Gift is copying countless products from the Limburg-based company Genius. The counterfeiter uses the brand name 'Genius' and the respective product name. He also advertises the counterfeits on the Internet, at trade fairs, at markets and in catalogs. This also applies to the 'Nicer Dicer Plus' kitchen slicer: The cutting blades of the counterfeit (pictured right) are blunt and break easily, and the plastic used contains substances that are harmful to health.
