Without drive technology - in the truest sense of the word - nothing would turn in most machines and systems. Computer&AUTOMATION presents the latest innovations in this automation discipline in a series of pictures.

Nidec Servo has expanded its stepper motor product portfolio with two new models. The bipolar KV2810 and KV5910 devices are hybrid stepper motors with ball bearings and generate a torque of up to 78.5 mNm at a step angle of 1.8°. The KV2810 model has dimensions of 28 mm × 28 mm × 9.4 mm and the KA5910 model measures ø63 mm × 9.6 mm. According to the manufacturer, the motors are suitable for applications such as SMA devices, lighting systems or surveillance cameras. Stepper motors are successfully used in positioning control systems. The driver electronics for this are cost-effective and each control pulse generates a step with a defined angle of rotation.
