In the 'Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy' sector, order intake grew due to a higher volume of major orders. This includes an order for an offshore wind farm, including services, in the Netherlands. The merger with Gamesa is primarily responsible for the increase in sales. According to Siemens, the development of profitability was impacted by very sharp price declines in India and the USA. Negative earnings were caused by charges of €134 million, mainly from the write-down of inventories, and €67 million for integration costs and capacity adjustments (including personnel restructuring).
