Hygienic design solutions
Whether used in process-related or integrated environments, the hygienic design actuators are designed and manufactured according to the design criteria for hygienic machines, equipment and components of the EHEDG for the corresponding process zones.
The drives have no dead angles and the surface roughness reaches Ra ≤0.8 μm. To avoid metal-to-metal joints, sealing rings made of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) are used at the joints of the components.
An A-side shaft seal ring is used, which is free of dead angles and enables high degrees of protection.
The geared motors are available up to protection class IP66K/IP69K. The motors also have cable glands in hygienic design.
In order to offer users greater freedom in their choice of feedback system, a two-cable solution has been provided as standard, although single-cable solutions are also available on request. As the drives have no screws visible from the outside, it has been possible to eliminate the areas of attack for microorganisms by using external screw connections.
