Change in the Executive Committee
Schneider Electric, the energy management and automation group, has appointed Dr. Barbara Frei, Zone President of the DACH region, as Executive Vice President Europe Operations.
Barbara Frei began her career in 1998 as a development project manager for motors and drives at ABB Switzerland. She held various management positions within the ABB Group before moving to Schneider Electric as Country President of Germany in 2016. In July 2018, she was promoted to Zone President of the newly established DACH region, which comprises Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Since then, the 48-year-old has bundled forces in the market and merged the three countries into one large sales organization. According to Schneider Electric, the new alignment has created synergies and added value for customers in the area of digital transformation.
Building on the success of a comprehensive range of solutions and service concepts in the DACH region, the new Head of Europe Frei now wants to bundle her expertise across the entire continent.
Frei studied at ETH Zurich (Switzerland) and holds a doctorate in electrical engineering and an MBA from IMD Lausanne (Switzerland).
