The German economic engine is stuttering and employees are increasingly worried about losing their jobs. According to the latest 'EY Job Study 2019', employees in the mechanical engineering sector in particular are very willing to change jobs. Many no longer consider their job to be secure.

... is the assumption of Oliver Simon, Head of Human Resources at Ernst & Young in Germany, Austria and Switzerland: "Just four out of ten employees see opportunities for advancement within their own company - but more and more are now actively demanding them. This is particularly true for women, who are now pursuing their careers with much more self-confidence than they did years ago. Nevertheless, they are still underrepresented in management roles and rightly demand opportunities to move up the ladder."
