Hanover Fair 2018Winner of the Hermes Award 2018 chosen
This year, Endress+Hauser Messtechnik - a specialist in process measurement technology - won the Hermes Award 2018. The industry prize, endowed with 100,000 euros, was presented by Anja Karliczek, Federal Minister of Education and Research, during the opening ceremony of the trade fair.

Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt / Continental from Frankfurt am Main: The 'Safe' project was nominated. It includes an integral protection system for automated driving. SAFE uses camera, radar and lidar sensors to reliably predict the severity of an expected accident and trigger protection systems before and at the time of a collision. A Safety Domain Control Unit controls the decision as to which safety measures are taken. Predictive vehicle safety systems are indispensable for autonomous driving, as they contribute significantly to the acceptance of driverless mobility and ensure that customer acceptance of highly automated driving is guaranteed.
