Current productsNews from sensor technology
What would the smart factory of today and tomorrow be without sensors? Sensors are indispensable as the basis of every industrial production system. Computer&AUTOMATION has summarized current trends in a picture gallery.

The pneumatic proximity switches in the 490 series from Hengstler are ATEX-certified and are therefore suitable for environments with potentially explosive atmospheres. The devices detect the exact position of workpieces, tools or machine components in the room without contact. If a magnetic field or an iron part approaches their detection area, they emit a pneumatic signal. Detection works even if there is a wall of non-magnetic material between the object and the switch. Thanks to their compact size, the switches are suitable for numerous applications, for example for determining the position of conveyor belts in transport systems or pneumatic cylinders in machines and systems. The proximity switches work at an operating pressure of between 2 and 6 bar, but do not require a permanent supply of compressed air. They can be used in the temperature range from 0 to +60 °C.
