Unitronic is presenting an NDIR CO2 sensor module for measuring and controlling indoor air quality. The CDM7160 sensor module developed by Figaro has two integrated detector elements, one of which acts as a reference channel. This method means that the system can also be used for absolute measurements. While single-sensor low-cost modules without a reference channel only allow relative CO2 measurement, the CDM7160 can also be used in environments with a constant CO2 concentration. Each module is calibrated individually. Each module is calibrated individually. The detection range extends from 300 to 5000 ppm CO2, with a measuring accuracy of ±50 ppm. Measurements are taken at two-second intervals. Between 4.5 and 5.25 V(DC) are required for the power supply. The average current consumption at measuring intervals of 2 s is 8 mA, during the measurement the sensor consumes a maximum of 60 mA at peak. The module measures 32 mm × 17 mm × 7.4 mm and weighs 3 g. Equipped with a UART, an I²C digital interface and an analog PWM output, it can be integrated into the user's products.
