Biotech startup develops 'chocolate drug'

Happiness will come from a tin in future: a German biotech start-up has developed the world's first smelling chocolate. Yabbaduu is a small 10g tin that contains 200 bars of chocolate. Dopamine and endorphins are activated in the brain and feelings of happiness are released.

According to the supplier, Yabbaduu is the healthiest chocolate in the world that is not chocolate. The small 10g tin of happiness is enough for 200 applications; a single application lasts up to an hour. That's the equivalent of 200 bars of chocolate - without a single calorie, sugar or fat. Yabbaduu is free from artificial and chemical additives, is purely plant-based, water-free, vegan, microplastic-free and cruelty-free.

"The way to the brain is through the nose," says Fabian List, one of the founders of Yabbaduu. "We have extracted the scent of organically grown cocoa beans in a complex process. Yabbaduu is massaged under the nose and on the bridge of the nose. The chocolate-scented balm activates opioid receptors in the brain and immediately triggers feelings of happiness." Numerous medical studies have shown that the smell of chocolate alone makes you happy and releases dopamine and endorphins.

Incidentally, the per capita consumption of chocolate in Germany was 9.2 kg per person in 2020.
