How badly is the German economy affected by cyberattacks using ransomware? What makes companies vulnerable and how do they react to ransomware attacks? The Alliance for Cyber Security examined this in a public survey.
What operational impact did the ransomware infection have? According to the study, only 4% stated that a worst-case scenario had occurred and that the incident had jeopardized the economic existence of the affected company. However, practically all those affected had to contend with various consequences. For example, many had to shut down significant parts of the IT infrastructure as a preventative measure or the systems even failed.
