Datalogic introduces the advanced models of the 'SG4 Fieldbus' - a safety light curtain for Industry 4.0. The SG4 Fieldbus Advanced safety light curtain is fully integrated into the real-time capable and safe communication protocol openSafety via Powerlink. The models enable adaptation to all applications - including those that require real-time evaluation of the status of each individual beam of a light curtain (for example partial muting, fixed blanking, floating blanking, reduced resolution, measurement) and any combination of the aforementioned examples - both statistically and dynamically. The addition of the Powerlink interface to the SG4 light curtain platform creates a safety solution that can be easily integrated into existing networks and communicates seamlessly with the programmable safety controllers. As both technologies (Powerlink and openSafety) are open and license-free, they offer investment protection over the entire life cycle of a machine or factory. Diagnostic functions are fully available for PLC and HMI systems. Every message can be read directly on the user interfaces as well as on remote interfaces.
