The Genuwall industrial firewall from IT security manufacturer Genua is a solution on the market that enables production networks to be segmented into separate security zones: for example, systems with an internet connection are separated from those without, separate security zones are set up for highly critical systems and the data flow between the areas is precisely controlled. These additional barriers increase the level of security. To keep integration costs low, the industrial firewall can be integrated into existing networks in bridging mode without having to adapt a single IP address. Other features include its use in high-availability clusters and central administration. As a new service, the company also offers IT security consulting for companies to support them on their way to Industry 4.0. The firewall controls data traffic and only allows the desired connections. A data throughput of up to 1 Gbit/s is achieved; higher performance requirements can be met with clusters. The firewall is administered via a management station, which also offers central monitoring to analyze data traffic and identify unwanted connections.
