The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) is alarmed. According to the report "Ransomware - Threat Situation, Prevention & Response 2021", the threat situation posed by ransomware has worsened significantly. Because the level of suffering for those affected is so high, victims often pay the ransom demanded. According to the BSI, this success of the perpetrators means that capacities are now being withdrawn from the 'banking Trojan business' and the botnets are now distributing ransomware
