The VDA 5050 interface, as well as VDA 5050, MQTT, JSON, UDP and TC/IP are used for communication between the vehicle and the control system. The 'SlamLoc' real-time positioning software from Sigmatek helps AMR to deal with changes in its environment during contour-based navigation. It works without pre-installed plans and determines a pose that is accurate to ±10 mm and ±1° in real time, even when contours change significantly. During the initial teaching run, the software creates a map of the surroundings as a basis for route planning. If a 'foreign object' is detected during a subsequent trip, it is temporarily taken into account and used to determine the position. Based on the SLAM data, the controlling systems can react immediately and determine the best possible route and avoid obstacles or take alternative routes.
