The Inther Group's solution with a fully automated single-piece picking robot achieves up to 1,200 accesses per hour. Source containers are fed in on an integrated roller conveyor. The robot arm picks a predefined article from the source containers every 3 seconds and thus serves up to twelve order containers in parallel. For this purpose, an approach angle was programmed in the self-learning operating software to ensure that the gripper approaches the product at the correct angle. At the same time, the entire system carries out several measurements: Supported by image processing technology and artificial intelligence applications, a sensor detects the product when it is removed from the source container. Among other things, an integrated height measurement determines the specific height of the item. With this information, the gripper knows how to place the product in the order container in a controlled and efficient manner.
