The Oberpfaffenhofen Application Center has selected clever innovations from young industrial automation and service robotics companies at Automatica. These include a 3D ultrasonic sensor, a multi-axis scanner and a mobile robot case.
... the development of the Iranian start-up Ikap Robotics: its robot wheeled suitcase 'Olive' is designed to make traveling more relaxed and comfortable. Thanks to a self-balancing system with two wheels, the suitcase can be used as a means of transportation like a Segway or it automatically follows its owner. Equipped with a 3D image processor and distance sensors, it can move safely and without collisions. The case shell is made of carbon to optimize weight. 'Olive' has a 10,000 mAh battery and a USB port that can be used to charge mobile devices. The owner can communicate with the suitcase via an associated app - for example, they can display the exact position on a map or the weight, operate the digital lock or make an emergency call in the event of danger.
