International Federation of RoboticsPlus 1.7 million industrial robots by 2020
The global stock of industrial robots will increase from around 1.83 million units in 2016 to over 3 million units in 2020, according to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) in its recently published World Robotics Report 2017.

China expanded its leading position with a market share of 30% of the total supply in 2016. With around 87,000 units sold, China even came close to the total sales of Europe and America combined (97,300 units). Chinese robot suppliers were able to further expand their domestic market share to 31% in 2016.
