Omron Adept Technologies is expanding its portfolio of mobile robots with the Lynx cart transporter. The intelligent driverless transport system with a payload of 130 kg can transport small, movable carts to a pick-up and drop-off position. It has a navigation system that enables autonomous pathfinding within the facility. No changes to the infrastructure are necessary. The vehicle is safe to operate even with existing door elements and busy aisles, as its sensors enable it to detect obstacles in its path. The 'Enterprise Manager' can be used to control several vans as a fleet. According to the provider, other features include automatic trolley location and recognition, autonomous navigation, safe operation, vertical laser sensors for obstacle avoidance and the ability to automatically pick up trolleys at their respective locations.
