If not in Russia, then in Canada: robots from German universities recently beat the international competition in soccer at the RoboCup World Cup. But the robotics competition in Montréal was not just about soccer. A look back.

... DSPL uses the Human Support Robot (HSR) from Toyota. By defining the robot platform, the entry hurdle for new teams is significantly lower: four new teams took part in both leagues. DSPL teams also competed against OPL teams in the first-ever 'P&G Dishwasher Test', in which the robots had to load plates and cutlery into a dishwasher. A Toyota robot from the Japanese team 'Hibikino Musashi' (pictured) came out on top.
