RoboCup World Championship 2017German robots impress in Japan

Soccer skills were on display at the RoboCup robotics competition in Japan at the end of July. At the forefront: the robots from the German university teams. They also showed how advanced they are technologically in the industrial, household and rescue disciplines.

A total of 23 teams qualified for this year's RoboCup 2017 'Rescue League', including a single German team - the 'Hector' team from the Technical University of Darmstadt (pictured). In the main categories of maneuvering, agility, dexterity and exploration, the robots each had to face up to six different partial evaluations. The six runs per day placed high demands on the resilience of the robots and the teams. ...
