© Insys icom

Insys icom offers smart energy gateways that are used for the secure monitoring and control of renewable energy systems or the connection of switchgear in a smart grid, for example via IEC 60870-5-101/104. The intelligent routers of the 'MRX', 'MRO', 'SCR' and 'ECR' series act as the basic element of the devices. Thanks to their Linux environment, software for edge computing and IoT operating system, they offer secure and flexible communication connections as well as a wealth of data processing and control options on site, for example as an intelligent protocol converter. As a result, even small systems or existing systems can be connected. For connection to SCADA and telecontrol systems, monitoring and control commands are converted into the system's protocol via IEC 60870-5-104/101 and Modbus TCP, for example - even with existing serial and proprietary interfaces. Several simultaneous VPN tunnels and VPN technologies enable separate access for market participants. Together with other security features, the IT security requirements in the energy world are met (Kritis). The telecommunications connection can be made flexibly via LAN, DSL and mobile radio.
