On February 10, the Plagiarius campaign awarded its 41st prize of the same name to product counterfeiters and imitators. In addition to consumer goods, industrial components are also frequently among the counterfeited products. This year was no exception.

The sellers had operated via amazon.com (USA) with fake identities and daily changing accounts. The inferior quality of the counterfeit - such as the non-functioning retractor mechanism - has already led to customer complaints in the USA and damage to the reputation of the original German manufacturer Flexi-Bogdahn International from Bargteheide in Schleswig-Holstein.
