With Orbiter600, Genesys is launching a machine vision system for 360° inspection of surfaces in throughfeed. It inspects and detects mechanical defects on smooth surfaces of workpieces that are manufactured in a press cycle - typically used for round housings. Depending on the part size, a throughput of up to 120 parts per minute is possible. The image processing system can be used to inspect both dull and reflective or mixed surfaces. The combination of diffuse incident light and grazing light helps to sort out defective parts. The inspection cell has a footprint of 1 m².
