How are German companies positioned compared to US companies when it comes to digitalization? A recent study provides the answers - with some alarming results.

In 2017, in more than one in three large German companies (35%), the digital transformation is now mainly managed by the management board or managing director. In contrast, a completely different picture emerges when looking at the USA. In 81% of the US companies surveyed, the digital transformation is managed by IT. Only 3% of companies have transferred responsibility for digitalization directly to the CEO. Etventure believes this is due to the high level of internal resistance in Germany: "Here it is essential that the CEO or board drives the topic. Only at this level can the radical decisions necessary for digitalization be made and employees be made aware of the importance of the topic.
