As many as 42% of mechanical engineering companies that would like to work with start-ups carry out their own start-up scouting. In addition to their own search, companies also make use of university networks and research institutions (94%) and 85% use recommendations from their own network to identify suitable start-ups. Industry associations are also becoming increasingly attractive as partners for start-up placement.
