Despite a new record result for machine tool production in 2015, the VDW is cautiously optimistic about the new year. The association recently presented how the industry figures are developing and where the market potential lies for German manufacturers.

... Asia and Europe: In the first three quarters of last year, they ordered 4% and 3% more respectively than in 2014. Orders from the People's Republic of China once again lost 8%, accounting for around a quarter of the total. This shows that The restructuring process will remain an issue in the land of means for a long time to come. Nevertheless, China remains important simply because of the size of the market, according to the VDW: the country accounts for a third of international machine tool consumption.
