The ZVEI's annual figures show that 2016 was the third record year in a row for the German electrical and electronics industry - in terms of both exports and imports. There was a change at the top of the ranking of top buyers.

... exports by the German electrical and electronics industry increased by 7.6 billion euros in 2016. The largest contribution to this came from exports to China (+1.3 billion euros). The second-highest contribution to growth came from industry exports to Poland. Comparatively high absolute declines in exports were recorded for sector exports to Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia in 2016.
