Siemens / 1st quarter 2016Strong start to the new financial year

Siemens has announced its figures for the first quarter of the new fiscal year: Order intake rose to €22.8 billion - an increase of 22% when adjusted for currency translation effects. The order backlog thus reached a new record level.

In Wind Power and Renewables, turnover fell due to the timing of project execution. In contrast, incoming orders rose - thanks in part to a major order from the UK: the Galopper offshore wind farm project has a volume of EUR 1 billion and includes a long-term service contract.
