Patent applicationsSiemens names 'Inventor of the Year 2017'
Siemens filed 3,650 patents in the 2017 fiscal year - 150 more than in the previous year. The company has now named 14 particularly resourceful researchers as 'Inventors of the Year 2017'.

Better air for our children - inventor Dr. Florian Bühs (40) from Siemens Mobility in Berlin has made a concrete contribution to this with the architecture for the development of the pantograph for trucks. With the eHighway, an electrified highway, cities and regions can reduce nitrogen oxide levels that are too high. In Los Angeles, California, trucks with the pantograph developed by Bühs have been driving on a test route between the port and the highway since October. The anchorage is one of the busiest in the USA, and the volume of trucks transporting the shiploads is correspondingly high. The researcher was awarded Inventor of the Year in the "Talent" category for his innovative work.
