Beckhoff Automation is expanding its entry-level IPC class with two devices: the C6905 control cabinet PC and the CP6706 Panel PC. Equipped with a powerful Intel Atom processor with up to four cores, the devices are particularly suitable as small and medium-sized machine controllers in which motion applications or more complex graphics applications are also to be implemented, according to the manufacturer. Both the 3.5-inch motherboard and the aluminum housing have been newly developed with aspects such as industrial suitability and long-term availability in mind. The devices offer 2 GByte DDR3L RAM (expandable ex works to 8 GByte), an on-board dual Ethernet adapter with 2 × 100/1000Base-T connection, a 4 GBC fast card with high-quality SLC flash, four USB 2.0 ports, a DVI connection and an optional third Ethernet port. In addition to Windows Embedded Compact, Windows Embedded Standard and Windows 10 can be used with the new devices.
