SMC equips its ITV series electropneumatic controllers with an IO-Link connection. This makes it possible to set the control behavior and the output pressure dynamically during operation. Pressure control is infinitely variable, proportional to the electrical signal and, according to the supplier, with maximum reproducibility. Two other features of the regulator - its small dimensions and low weight - remain unchanged. In the compact version ("ITV0000"), the controllers are 15 mm wide and weigh just 100 g. The largest model ("ITV3000") weighs 750 g and offers flow rates of up to 4000 l/min. In addition to IO-Link, the four model series of the "ITV" series support fieldbus protocols such as Devicenet or Profibus and are also equipped with a serial RS232 interface. With a supply pressure of 1.2 MPa, the controllers can be used to perform continuous pressure control in the range from 0 to 1 MPa. The repeat accuracy is specified as ±0.5 %, the linearity is ±1 % of the final value.
