Dematic has expanded its portfolio to include a robot arm for automated picking. The so-called Robot Piece Picking Module independently selects individual items, lifts them and transports them to the designated containers. Throughput rates of 600 to 1200 items per hour are achieved, which means that the robotic arm increases both accuracy and productivity in intralogistics. With the "Robot Piece Picking Module", Dematic also completes the automation of all work steps involved in order fulfillment. The software integrated in the robot arm first scans and verifies the incoming containers and determines the position of the items they contain. The robot arm then picks the products according to the order list and places them in the designated containers. Products of different types and sizes, such as personal care products, cosmetics, packaged food, office supplies or even industrial spare parts, can be picked automatically with the help of the robotic arm. The robotic arm can be integrated into both new and existing systems.
