AMC is expanding its product portfolio with the DIN rail-mountable IoT gateway UNO-1251G. The industrial computer has a programmable OLED display, a slot for wireless communication and a built-in CAN bus. It supports over 450 PLCs, controllers and I/O device protocols. With an integrated CAN bus, the gateway is particularly suitable for networking intelligent peripheral devices such as sensors and actuators, according to the manufacturer. To support the development of CAN bus applications, the computer contains the Advantech CANopen protocol library, which provides a C application programming interface (API) with which CANopen devices can be used, configured, started and monitored. The device has a side expansion slot that can be used to install an optional wireless card without having to open the entire unit. According to the manufacturer, it is also designed so that it can be operated remotely from any PC using a VNC client. WebAccess allows users to move from proprietary systems to an open architecture and simplify the integration of different devices.
