The company TQ has presented the TQMT2081 mini module. It comprises a computing unit based on the T2081 processor from NXP with eight virtual cores and 10 Gbit Ethernet interfaces. The module gives users access to all of the processor's interfaces and signals. This means that the appropriate and specific solution can be selected and implemented directly for each design. This may involve the efficient exchange of information via Ethernet, for example, or the parallel processing of data using the integrated AltiVec vector processor. The evaluation platform (starter kit), which is also available, contains both the module and a base board with a comprehensive number of interfaces and configuration options. Together with the Linux-based board support package under Yocto, hardware tests and software developments can be carried out before starting your own designs. This shortens development times and reduces product development costs. Thanks to its pin compatibility with the existing TQMT1042 module, it is also suitable as a solution for scalability within applications.
