RS Components is making the Pioneer Kit development platform available for the PSoC-6 MCU from Cypress Semiconductor Corp. This is designed for ultra-low-power IoT applications. The Pioneer Kit has a PSoC-63-device on-board and is Bluetooth-5-ready-to-go. A Cypress 512 Mb quad SPI NOR flash memory and an EZ-PD-CCG3 USB Type-C controller with power supply are also on board. There are also Smart Power options that support a rechargeable LiPo battery and a supercapacitor. It can be used as a backup power supply. Users of the kit can customize the user interface according to their new applications by making use of the integrated capacitive sensor buttons, the slider and the proximity sensor based on Cypress CapSense technology and the 2.7-inch E-Ink display shield. They are all included in the scope of delivery. There is also a software development kit (SDK) with header files, start-up code and integrated middleware called the Peripheral Driver Library (PDL). The PDL is designed to help you quickly take control of the flexible peripherals of the PSoC-6 MCUs.
