In the ARM sector, TQ-Systems is presenting two new modules based on Cortex-A7 technology: The ARM module TQMa7x uses the i.MX7 with up to 1 GHz. According to the manufacturer, this embedded module is characterized by low power loss compared to the computing power and available peripherals. The ARM module TQMa6ULx is planned on the basis of the i.MX6UL, also an ARM Cortex-A7 core with 528 MHz. Three modules are now available in the x86 module family for use in embedded PC applications. The COM Express type 10 mini module TQMxE38M can be equipped with various Atom processors from Intel's E3800 family and with up to 8 GB of memory. According to the manufacturer, the TQMxE38C represents the economical yet powerful entry-level class of COM Express type 6 compact modules. In addition, the pin-compatible TQMx50UC, which is equipped with Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors and up to 16 GB of memory, is said to be suitable for demanding embedded PC applications. In the area of power architecture-based modules with Freescale QorIQ processors, TQ-Embedded offers the TQMT1042, a module that can be used for commissioning and qualification tests and is based on the Freescale T1042 quad-core processor, but supports up to six additional pin-compatible processors from the Freescale T1/T2 series.
