From February 27 to March 1, 2018, the Nuremberg exhibition halls made room for everything to do with embedded systems technology. Computer&AUTOMATION presents a selection of new products that were on show at the stands of the 16th embedded world.

Under the name SmartSL U7-100, Efco offers a range of fanless industrial computers that are designed to offer flexibility in terms of processor performance and Qseven features thanks to the use of Qseven CPU modules. The interface configuration can also be individually tailored to the user's requirements thanks to Qseven module technology. The devices are based on Intel's Bay Trail architecture. 1× USB 3.0/2.0, 2× USB 2.0, 1× RS232, 1× DP, 2× Gigabit Ethernet and 1× audio (line-out)/MIC are installed as standard. There are also two slots for full-size PCI Express mini cards. With dimensions of 160 mm × 88 mm × 19 mm, the industrial computers are about the size of a smartphone, making them a compact solution for factory automation, machine control and embedded applications. The devices require a supply voltage between 9 and 32 V(DC) ±5 % and can be used at temperatures from 0 to +70 °C. They bear the CE mark. They carry the CE mark and comply with FCC regulations (Class A). An operating system (Microsoft Windows 8/Windows 8 embedded, Windows 7/Windows 7 Embedded Compact or Linux) can be installed as an option.
