Embedded systemsNew products at embedded world 2018
From February 27 to March 1, 2018, the Nuremberg exhibition halls made room for everything to do with embedded systems technology. Computer&AUTOMATION presents a selection of new products that were on show at the stands of the 16th embedded world.

Lynx Software Technologies has released version 6.0 of its hypervisor Lynxsecure, which can now also be used in multicore systems based on ARM designs for the first time. Specifically: Lynxsecure 6.0 supports the Armv8-A architectures in addition to Intel-x86. The support of the 64-bit architecture of Armv8-A allows both 32- and 64-bit guest operating systems to run virtualized without modification. According to the manufacturer, the Arms hypervisor fully supports multicore SoCs through 'core-to-guest OS affinity' and also offers support for multicore guest operating systems as well as shared core usage across different guest operating systems. This enables developers to take full advantage of the benefits of multi-core systems. Lynxsecure leverages the MMU, SMMU and virtualization capabilities of the Arm Cortex-A processor to completely isolate operating systems and applications, allowing access only to associated objects. This type of isolation ensures security for the next generation of networked devices by separating the 'networked' domain from other critical computing domains and protecting the system from IT-generated threats.
